Walking
There are of course stunning walks in every direction - far too many to mention here. The South West Coast Path National Trail (which is rated by Lonely Planet as one of its top walks in the world) has its halfway point nearby.

Likewise there are numerous good eateries around below are just a couple of our closest favourites and there are lots listed in the Cottage House Book.
The Ship Inn: Lovely friendly family run foodie pub. This is our favourite watering hole and we haven’t ever had a bad meal here – luckily it is on our way home!! Opens from Tuesday – Saturday from 6pm. Reservations only available by booking,
Fat Apples Cafe: Welcoming family café just down the road from us.
The Greenhouse Restaurant: Good organic restaurant just off the village square and an easy walk.

Cornwall is a mecca for artists and you will find galleries all around the place.
Gardens
Cornwall is famous for its beautiful gardens and plant collections. There are too many to mention but links to a few are below
Trebah Gardens: A 26 acre sub-tropical garden set in a steeply wooded ravine falling 200ft from the 18th Century house to the beach and the Helford River. This is our favourite garden and is rated among one of the 80 finest in the world.
Glendurgan Gardens: Trebah's next door neighbour famous for its restored maze.
Bonython Manor: Unique blend of tropical and traditional horticulture on The Lizard Peninsula.
Tregoning Mill: A very local plantsman's garden, specialising in Magnolias & Rhododendrons. Visits by appointment only.
Potager Garden: Emerging from a bramble choked wilderness, mature trees and lush herbaceous planting are interspersed with fruit and vegetables. Potager aims to demonstrate the beauty of productive organic gardening. In Alistair Sawday's guide to 'Slow England' Potager was selected for its uniquely calm atmosphere. There are games to play, hammocks to laze in, boule and badminton to enjoy. There is a 100 foot glasshouse where visitors can sit, paint or even snooze and a very good vegetarian cafe.
Trewithen: This is one of the great gardens of Cornwall famous for the collections of Magnolia and Camellias, therefore best seen in the spring.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan: Acclaimed as the 'garden restoration of the century' by The Times.
The Eden Project: Visit the Rainforest and Mediterranean Biomes. Events and concerts throughout the year and ice skating in the winter.
Trelissick: Some of the best maritime views in Cornwall.
Things to do
Coverack Windsurfing Centre: Catering for all levels, also surf Kayaks, SUP's (stand up paddle boards). They can arrange boating and fishing trips as well.
Porthkerris Diving, 01326 280620. Run by Mike and Jo Anselmi, they offer shore and boat diving around the stunning Manacles Marine Conservation Zone, plus courses for beginners. Fishing is £2.00 per day plus a parking charge and you can launch your kayaks from the cove here.
Sailaway Boat Hire: Boat Hire by the hour or day. They have both motor and sailing boats of various sizes plus rowing dinghies and Kayaks (single or double). Sailing tuition also available.
The Seal Sanctuary: This, along with Flambards, was always our daughter's favourite place to visit! Buy your tickets online - it's cheaper!
Flambards: Rides, attractions and indoor exhibitions including the famous Victorian Village. This is well worth a visit for the village alone - stroll through the streets (cobbled with salvaged granite setts from Bath) and explore homes, shops, a school, dentist, printer - too many to mention but all beautifully done. You can also explore the smaller but interesting and atmospheric Britain in the Blitz exhibition.
Poldark Mine: Go on an underground tour to see the conditions the men used to work in.
